Vane pump :
The vane pump is the most widely used pump after a gear pump and is mainly used in low pressure, medium pressure oil systems. Compared with gear pumps, vane pumps ensure a more even flow, higher volumetric efficiency. It is therefore very suitable in systems supplying oil pressures for machine tools.
- Classification vane pumps are divided into two types:
Single-acting vane pump
Dual-acting vane pump
1. Single acting vane pump
A single acting vane pump is a pump that when the shaft is rotated once, it performs a duty cycle consisting of one suction and one compression. Single vane pumps are available with either constant flow or adjustable flow.
The construction of a single acting vane pump consists of a cylindrical housing in which the rotor is included. The center of the housing and rotor are separated by a distance of e. There are flat plates on the rotor. When the rotor rotates, these plates slide in the grooves and the liquid is called the vane. The space limited by the pump housing and the rotor is called the working volume.
With the structure of a single vane pump as above, a machine rotation represents one suction and one push. Pumping more vaneers, the flow more evenly, normally the number of vane from 4 to 12.
2. Dual acting vane pump
Dual vane pump is when the shaft rotates once, the volume between the vane increases twice and decreases twice ie suction twice, compress twice.
The structure of a dual-acting vane pump is similar to that of a single vane pump, only different in the structure of the pump housing:
- The inside of the pump housing is not the cylinder surface
- The center of the rotor coincides with the center of the shell
- The pump has two suction chambers and two push chambers
During one duty cycle, the pump must perform two suction and two pushes, so it is called a double acting pump. Since the suction and thrust chambers are arranged symmetrically across the center, the load on the rotor shaft is greatly reduced. In order to increase the narrow gap length, reduce the force to be applied to the vane and to allow the vane to slide easily, in the grooves of the rotor it is arranged that the vane is tilted to the angle a = 6. to 13 degrees. (Note that in such an inclined arrangement, the pump only operates in one direction).
The pump structure is symmetrical, so the force acting on the shaft is more balanced than the single vane pump, which can be used in high pressure systems. Flow of pump is made from 5 to 200 liters / min, pressure can reach 125 bar.
